Catherine & Nick (Seaside Engagement Session)

February 23, 2024

Catherine and Nicks’ engagement session was something dreams are made of! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. 73 degrees partly cloudy and the softest breeze. And then a magical sunset as a grand finale. It still reminds me of Taylor Swift’s new album Lover. It came out they day we shot too!
They met through friends on a night. It was just regular afternoon at a bar with friends and it just kind of clicked. Shortly there after, Nick moved to Charlotte, North Carolina while Catherine was still living in New York City. But love prevails and they decided they were going to to continue their love story. They commuted for a while to see each other. Back and forth from different states and plenty of Facetiming kept that beautiful spark alive. This all started back in December 2013
Today, they live together in Connecticut. We went to Their favorite spot Tod’s Point in Greenwich, CT. It’s a little island filled with little shells and sailboats that line to the arena that lead into the ocean. They told me how they love to come here to walk, hike and ride their bikes along all the island. We rode along the island and they pointed out all the best spots. It’s one of their favorite places to be. You wouldn’t even believe it’s so close to NYC.
Which is good because they commute into the city. But, they love to travel. They love going to new places for fun like Portland, Oregon. A now special place for them because it is where Nick pop the question! They were at a local food shack where the food is farm to table and only open during the summer months. The winter months the chef is traveling with a snowboarding team. After a lovely dinner and two bottles of wine, Nick got down on one knee and asked Catherine to be his wife. But she thought he was hurt because he had had a hip surgery recently and had experienced hip issues while on their long hike yesterday. He quickly assured her he was fine and that he wanted to know if she would be with him forever! Surprised and happy he wasn’t hurt she gladly said yes!
Congratulations Catherine & Nick! I can’t wait to photograph you wedding later this month!
