A Timeless David’s Country Inn Wedding Full of Love, Elegance, and a Little Rain
There are some weddings that stay with you forever, etched in memory like a favorite photo. Jess and Brian’s David’s Country Inn wedding was just that kind of day. Set at the historic inn in Hackettstown, NJ, this celebration unfolded with timeless black and white elegance, heartfelt reunions, and personal touches that made every moment feel intimate and elevated.
Getting Ready at David’s Country Inn: Nostalgia and Friendship
The day began where history meets romance. Inside the beautiful bridal suite at David’s Country Inn. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as Jess and her bridesmaids, all in sleek matching black robes, prepared for the day ahead. For me, this wedding was a little extra special, Jess and I go way back to high school days, and many of her bridesmaids were familiar faces I hadn’t seen in years. Even the makeup artist was someone I knew from those days, it felt like a joyful reunion wrapped in satin and excitement.
One of the most touching moments that morning was when Jess received a bouquet of lilies, her favorite flower, from Brian. It was a simple yet deeply romantic gesture that spoke volumes. Jess slipped into her breathtaking gown, an A-line lace dress with a soft nude underlay and delicate floral embroidery. Its light, sheer quality was perfect for the warm summer air, while her bridesmaids complemented the aesthetic in sleek black satin dresses. White florals, roses, baby’s breath, and calla lilies, created a striking and elegant contrast.
Modern Romance Meets Historic Charm
Jess and Brian’s entire wedding design echoed timeless sophistication with a modern twist. With a palette of black and white, the couple asked their guests to dress in all black. A unique touch that elevated the entire aesthetic. Jess, a talented designer herself, crafted the wedding signage, including the bold welcome sign, a chic seating chart, and the beautiful custom backdrop behind their sweetheart table. The look was cohesive, minimal, and incredibly stylish. A perfect fusion of vintage elegance and modern romance.
Their first look took place in the ceremony space, and it was as emotional as it was beautiful. Brian’s face said it all. Tears welled up as he saw Jess, and in that quiet moment, the world melted away. Not long after, their daughter Khloe joined us, running and playing nearby as we explored the grounds for portraits. The ivy-covered walls, black doors, and Tiffany glass details added to the charm of this incredible venue, while the surrounding gardens brought softness and light.
A Ceremony in the Rain, and a Vow to Love
Though the forecast had whispered of rain, Jess and I both knew the outdoor ceremony space was too beautiful to pass up. Set for 5:30pm, the air was full of hope and light breeze. Amanda, Jess’s childhood best friend, who had the honor of officiating the ceremony walked down the aisle. she was followed by Jess and Brian’s daughters walked down the aisle as flower girls.
As fate would have it, the rain gently began to fall midway through. But instead of dampening spirits, it only added to the magic. Clear umbrellas floated above guests, and Amanda gracefully wrapped the ceremony with vows and a kiss just as the raindrops settled in. With laughter and happy tears, Jess and Brian walked back down the aisle, officially married and glowing.
Celebration Under the Clouds (and on Them, Too)
Inside the 300-year-old bar, cocktail hour was cozy and warm. Jess and Brian could finally relax and take it all in with drinks, hugs, and heartfelt toasts. I even got to see my sister (who had gone to school with Jess too!), making this night feel even more like a full-circle moment.
Their grand entrance down the staircase into the ballroom was nothing short of cinematic. Their first dance was surrounded by the dreamy “dancing on the clouds”, with their daughters gleefully playing in the mist at their feet. It was a lovely scene of a family dancing together in a dream.
And when it was time to party, this crowd knew how to celebrate. ERE Entertainment kept the energy high (Ariel, the DJ, even played at my own wedding!). The CO2 cannons, the nostalgic hits, and the joy on everyone’s faces turned the night into a true celebration. Then came the most delicious surprises, fresh cannolis served right on the dance floor. That was followed by pizza slices handed out from a trailer run by yet another high school friend. The night was fun, flavorful, and full of heart.
A David’s Country Inn Wedding to Remember
Jess and Brian’s David’s Country Inn wedding was filled with connection, beauty, and heartfelt joy. It felt like something out of a romantic film, with just enough rain to remind us that even the unexpected can be beautiful.
Jess and Brian, thank you from the bottom of my heart for having me document your day. It was an honor to witness such a meaningful chapter in your love story. I hope you’re still floating from the celebration. And I wish you both (and your beautiful girls) all the happiness in the world. Congratulations, again!
