Donaldsons Farm Engagement | Brianna & Justin’s Romantic Farm Session
There’s something incredibly special about a Donaldsons Farm engagement session in the fall. The golden fields, the rolling hills, the quiet orchards, and the warm September sun all come together to create the most romantic atmosphere imaginable. Brianna and Justin’s engagement session felt less like a photoshoot and more like stepping into a peaceful evening on the farm with two people who are deeply in love and excited for the life they’re building together.
Because this session took place on Brianna’s family farm, the entire experience felt personal, nostalgic, and meaningful from the very beginning. Farms have a way of holding memories within their landscapes, and for Brianna, this land represents years of family, animals, and simple beautiful moments. So naturally, it was the perfect place to celebrate the start of the next chapter of her life with Justin. And honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.
A Personal Farm Engagement Session
Some engagement sessions feel like adventures. Others feel elegant and romantic. But this one felt like home. Brianna and Justin are true farm people. They love animals, open land, and quiet country life. Horses especially hold a special place in their hearts, so including one in their engagement photos was something they knew they wanted from the start. So of course, we did exactly that.
Their friend kindly brought a beautiful horse who immediately became the star of the show. She was calm, curious, and honestly a natural model. I swear she knew exactly when the camera was pointed at her because she would perk up her ears and pose like a professional.
A Horse Who Stole the Show
Pasture Portraits with a Perfect Model
We started the evening in the pasture where the tall grass gently moved in the breeze and the sun slowly started its descent toward the horizon. Brianna and Justin stood together beside the horse, laughing and smiling as they fed her little bits of grass and held the reins. There was something so peaceful about the moment. It felt natural and effortless, like the farm itself was part of their story. And the horse? She absolutely delivered.
She posed with them, stood beautifully for portraits, and even leaned her head in a few times like she wanted to be included in the photos. Those moments ended up being some of my favorite images from the entire session. Animal lovers know that these kinds of moments can’t be forced. They just happen. And when they do, they’re magical.
Views That Stretch for Miles
The Hilltop That Took Our Breath Away
After spending time in the pasture, we wandered across the farm to explore some of Brianna’s favorite spots. One of those places was a hilltop that overlooked the surrounding countryside. When we reached the top, the view stretched for miles. Fields rolled gently into the distance, dotted with trees that were just beginning to hint at fall colors. The air was soft and warm, and the quiet was almost unbelievable.
Brianna and Justin stood together at the edge of the hill, arms wrapped around each other, looking out over the land. The way they looked at each other in those moments said everything. You could see the excitement in their eyes and the deep comfort they have with one another. These two have been together for a long time, and it shows in the best way. Their connection is easy, natural, and full of warmth.
Walking Through the Apple Orchard
No fall farm session would be complete without an apple orchard. Luckily, the farm has a beautiful orchard that opens to the public during the fall months. But during our session, we had it completely to ourselves. And it felt like something out of a storybook.
We slowly walked through the rows of apple trees while the sun dipped lower in the sky. The branches were full, the leaves glowed in the golden light, and the ground was scattered with fallen apples that gave the entire orchard that unmistakable autumn charm. This part of the evening became the most romantic portion of the Donaldsons Farm engagement session.
Golden Hour in the Orchard
Golden hour arrived quietly, and suddenly the entire orchard was glowing. The sun filtered through the leaves, creating soft beams of light that danced around Brianna and Justin as they walked hand in hand between the trees. The light wrapped around them in the most dreamy way.
They laughed together, whispered to each other, and shared the kind of quiet moments that photographers live for. There were times when they would stop walking and simply look at each other. No posing needed. No direction required. Just two people completely present in the moment.
Those are the moments that make engagement sessions unforgettable.
A Love That Feels Meant to Be
Watching Brianna and Justin together felt like witnessing something steady and genuine. They have the kind of love that grows over time. The kind that feels comfortable, warm, and deeply rooted.
You could see how excited they are for the future. They talked about their upcoming wedding, their plans together, and how they can’t wait to finally be husband and wife. And honestly, their wedding venue couldn’t be more perfect for them.
Looking Ahead to Their Wedding at Sterlingbrook Farm Events
Brianna and Justin chose to celebrate their wedding at Sterlingbrook Farm Events, which feels like it was practically designed for them. It’s a gorgeous horse farm wedding venue where couples celebrate their day surrounded by open fields, rustic charm, and a beautiful barn reception space. For two people who love farm life and horses, it truly couldn’t be more fitting.
Even better, their wedding will take place one year after their engagement session, again in September. Which means we’ll be right back in that magical fall season again. And I honestly cannot wait.
Why Farm Engagement Sessions Are So Special
There’s something incredibly meaningful about choosing a location that reflects who you are as a couple. For Brianna and Justin, their Donaldsons Farm engagement session wasn’t just about beautiful photos. It was about telling their story in a place that shaped their lives. The horses, the orchard, the rolling fields, and the hilltop views all came together to create an engagement session that felt authentic, peaceful, and completely personal.
Sessions like this remind me why I love photographing couples so much. Every couple has their own story, their own favorite places, and their own unique way of showing love. And when all of that comes together in one beautiful September evening on a farm, magic happens.
