(Skylands Manor Engagement Session) Caroline & David

March 6, 2026

Romantic Garden Engagement at a Historic NJ Estate

Caroline and David’s Skylands Manor Engagement Session in Ringwood, New Jersey, was the perfect kickoff to their wedding journey. With their big day planned for next June at Seasons Catering in Washington Township, this shoot held extra meaning. It was not only the start of their countdown but also a nod to their engagement, which happened in the month of June too! Everything about this session was timeless, elegant, and filled with the kind of joy that makes you fall in love with love all over again.

A Mountain-Top Proposal to a Manor Garden Moment

Their love story began with an epic proposal that deserves its own spotlight. Caroline and David got engaged last June atop the breathtaking Mount Rainier in Washington State. Yes, snow-covered peaks in the middle of June! David popped the question surrounded by nature’s quiet magic, with snowy mountaintops stretching as far as the eye could see. It was unexpected, serene, and deeply meaningful. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment that reflected their adventurous spirit.

Bringing their story back home to New Jersey for their engagement photos, they wanted a location that mirrored that same sense of elegance, and intimacy. Skylands Manor checked every box! With its enchanting grounds, blooming gardens, tranquil reflecting pools with koi fish, and classic stone architecture. It’s both regal and romantic.

A Picture-Perfect Session with Elegant Style

Every corner of Skylands Manor gave us a dreamy setting to work with. There was ivy-covered walls and quiet staircases with iron railings that framed Caroline and David perfectly. Their wardrobe choices made the whole session feel elevated and refined, while still relaxed and natural. Caroline wore an ivory silk wrap dress with long sleeves and the sweetest row of buttons. A simple, bridal, and effortlessly chic look. David complemented her perfectly in a light gray blazer, white button-down shirt, and soft beige pants. Together, they looked like a page out of an editorial magazine.

And we can’t forget the ring! Caroline’s round diamond set on a classic yellow gold band was stunning in every shot. The picture of timeless, understated, and elegant. (And as it turns out, it’s the same style as my own engagement ring! As a result, we had a fun moment bonding over that shared love for simplicity.)

Light, Airy, and Full of Joy

This Skylands Manor engagement session was more than just a photo session. It was an afternoon filled with laughter, storytelling, and so much excitement for what’s to come. As we wandered through open fields and quiet paths, Caroline and David told me more about their plans for their June wedding, how much they love spending time outdoors. Moreover, It was clear that this was the perfect place for their engagement photos. It was elegant, natural, and romantic, just like them.

Counting Down to “I Do”

Lastly, Caroline and David, thank you for trusting me to capture your love at such a beautiful time in your life. Your Skylands Manor engagement session was truly magical, and I already know your wedding at Seasons Catering is going to be just as incredible! I’m so lucky to be your photographer and to witness this chapter of your love story.

Here’s to all the joy, laughter, and love still to come!
